Can you plaster over Artex?

Where the surface is suitable and properly prepared, we can create a smoother plastered finish over textured coatings. We assess each ceiling before recommending the best approach.

Do you remove asbestos?

No. We do not carry out asbestos testing, survey or removal. Older textured coatings may need to be assessed by a specialist before any disturbance — we focus on the plastering work itself.

Is every Artex ceiling safe to cover?

Not necessarily. The condition and age of the coating matter, and some surfaces are better over-boarded than skimmed. We advise on the appropriate route for your ceiling.

Do you over-board textured ceilings?

Yes. Over-boarding with new plasterboard is often the cleanest way to deal with a heavily textured ceiling, and we then skim it to a smooth finish.
