Elite Plastering Contractors Ltd helps create a smoother, more modern plastered finish over suitable textured surfaces — whether by preparing and skimming the existing ceiling or over-boarding with new plasterboard.
The right approach depends on the condition of the ceiling, so we assess each surface before recommending skimming, over-boarding or a combination of both.
Textured coatings manufactured before 2000 may contain asbestos fibres. We do not carry out asbestos testing, surveys or removal. Where the age or composition of a coating is uncertain, it should be assessed by an appropriate specialist before any disturbance. We focus on the plastering work and will advise on suitable preparation or over-boarding options once the surface has been appropriately assessed.

Do you over-board textured ceilings?
Yes. Over-boarding with new plasterboard is often the cleanest way to deal with a heavily textured ceiling, and we then skim it to a smooth finish.
